  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • We had some tutor sessions planned in however personally i would have liked some more to support with my maths and english. The training was very clear around the role and the business however would have liked more time focusing on the Apprenticeship part of the role. My manager was visible throughout the training which also helped in the delivery. The general attitude from managers and trainers in terms of support has been great and there has been a constant interaction

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • It is great that we get paid the same salary as any other new start. As well as this we also get the qualification at the end which is fanatastic. The salary is very competetive in comparison with other businesses and is local to the town centre and my home which is great. The business can also be flexible in terms of shift slides if required which is really helpful to my fitting in with my work life balance.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The business really treat you as a person and each interaction is personal to me. There is a high level of support available to ensure i do the best in my role and the apprenticeship. The Aprpenticeship is a great opportunity doing the same as another new start but also gaining a qualification at the end of it. The salary is great and the people i work with make it an enjoyable place to come to work. I look forward to coming in to work every day because i am aware of the difference i can make and also the development i can gain

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Gas?
  • The application process can be quite long winded however is worth it. The interviews and assessments days are fun and structured yet can be challenging although it was clear the reason they were asking the specific questions as they linked into the companies strategic priorities. I did not have any customer service experience however have learnt a lot therefore if you do not have the experience do not let this put you off. The main thing is that you want to do whats right for the customer
