My role involves going to customers houses and changing meters, the role also involves checking applicances.
I have learnt loads of new skills, like how to cut and cable up meters, I've also learnt loads of gas knowledge but the process is too quick.
The programme was enjoyable due to the people in the class and the ldm made the work more bareable than sitting and watching power points all day
I feel valued by British Gas but would like more time to be able to be with someone to get more knowledge instead of being thrown out into the dark.
The structure of the programme is shocking, you don't get enough time on the patch to learn on the job knowledge and you're rushed through the academy.
My training provider has given me and the rest of the class loads of support.
My employer have given me enough support to get me through the course.
The salary for the apprenticeship isn't that bad but having the salary a bit higher would incline more people to do the job!
There are none that I know of.
Yes
I enjoy my job and would recommend it to anyone that wanted a change in their career.
Make sure to take in as much as you can when you're in the class, because you don't get a lot of time to learn it all before you go into your exams and get thrown onto patch.
