  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My job title is Smart Energy Expert and my everyday tasks includ visiting customers, providing them with new smart metering technology, attending technical faults on smart meters and dumb meters, attending jobs on behalf of revenue protection unit. On a day to day basis I talk to customers and provide them with energy efficiency advice in order to help them reduce their bills. On top of that I communicate with other agencies that work along BG. When needed, I contact more experienced work colleagues over the phone to ask for advice and to request necessary parts.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • We had an introductory meeting and I received training that motivated me to study independently as well as in the class that I felt prepared me well for the job before I started. There is always someone available for me to contact and request help or advice which makes me feel supported. I am delegated a workload that is sometimes difficult to manage in a day. There is a clear hierarchy in the company which makes the structure strong and clear, however, everyone is very approachable.
