I'm a Manufacturing Engineering apprentice for Meteor. My day to day tasks involve making sure production is running smoothly and finding new ways of improving the process. I deal with people at all levels within the company. I have the same responsibilities as any other full time employee
Within my apprenticeship I have learnt countless skills which I regularly use in my day to day job. On top of this I'm also studying for a HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
I enjoy the varied work I get everyday. The people I work with also help make it more enjoyable as we help each other when needed. My job has exceeded my expectations due to the responsibility and trust given to me everyday
When I've completed a job well or gone above and beyond expectation it is regularly followed by recognition from all levels within the company
We receive a structured plan for the entire 4 years of the apprenticeship. This is followed rigidly. If any changes need to be made we are given notice well in advance
As I am coming towards the end of my apprenticeship I haven't needed much assistance however in the earlier stages they were always there to provide any help when I asked for it
MBDA are quick to help any struggling apprentices on the course as they recognise the significance that apprentices have within MBDA's core structure
I'm happy with my salary
Activities are available for anyone who would like to do them. There are regular social events
