I am part of the private client team in BSE and help assist in preparing tax returns for individuals. I also help keep on track of the holiday planner and the filing. My manager reviews the returns and then I amend them and get them ready to sent to the client. I also email third parties for information
I have developed my communication skills through writing regular letters to clients and my calling HMRC. I have also learnt how to juggle numerous tasks and work towards deadlines.
I really enjoy the company, the skills and behaviours as part of the BPP apprenticeship aren't the most helpful and aren't very clear but the outline of them it good.
I am involved and I do feel valued. Last week, one manager allowed me to accompany her to a client and this made me feel like I had made progress and was appreciated.
BPP haven't been the most organised, my apprentice skills were delivered late and then I started behind. I have also found that the qualification and skills don't compliment each other well.
I receive study materials from BPP which are very good and the webinars are good but the outside support is vague and not overally helpful
Lots of support, I often go to my employer before BPP as they are more in tune with the course and the content, they also know the struggle of balancing work and study
It gives me sustainability and considering I do not have to pay for training it is very adequate. Luckily I live locally so travel costs are minimal.
Not really, I found it very difficult to find an apprenticeship as a school leaver- everyone seemed to think that uni was the only option which was frustrating.
Yes
They make you feel welcome and are very engaged with your needs and training, they start involving you early on and the work compliments the study aspect well.
Just be yourself, show passion for working in tax/accountancy and determination to work hard as this will be rewarded. RSM like team players and lots of spirit!
