On the first and last day I met all the other work experience students and completed team building exercises and learnt about what PwC does. During the middle 3 days I shadowed a Pwc employeee and went to a couple of their meetings. I also learnt about the 3 general sections of PwC; tax, audit and consulting. On the last day we met up with all the other work experience students again and carried out a task in groups to sell an idea we had come up with to a school company.
I have learnt how to be professional in a working environment. I have developed my team working skills, as I understand that working in your department is like working as one big team to support each other
I enjoyed this programme, as I got to go into one of the Big Four companies and saw how it ran from the inside. There was a variety of tasks with lots to do and learn
I feel valued, as they told me about the graduate programmes and school leavers programmed, as they encouraged me to get involved. Even 7 months on, I am still receiving emails from the company
My programme was structured. On Monday and Friday we were at different offices with a programme that run to the hour. In the days in between it was less structured because I was shadowing my buddy
As this was work experience, there was not a huge amount of work I was doing on my own. However there was support from my buddy and the general programme manager everyday
As this was work experience, there was not a huge amount of work I was doing on my own and this was only for a week. However I was getting help from PwC when it came to thinking about the future
As this was only a weeks work experience and I was 17 at the time, I cannot say that the salary did or did not meet my costs, in terms of living, transport and social costs
Yes, there is the graduate scheme and school leavers programme scheme, which is a way to get involved with the company. The team usually went out for lunch and so there was things to do during the lunch break, being close to a shopping centre (Uxbridge)
Yes
The company can provide fantastic opportunities for the future, such as the graduate scheme and school leavers programme. They have good support and networks which will further help in future
The application process was tough and so make sure you put your full effort into each stage. Practice interviews, as they ask a lot of competency based questions. It is good to think about these beforehand
