I am a smart meter installer and expert
I have done both electric and gas qualifications
I enjoy the fact it is a good mixture of theory and practice.
They do invest alot of money in training to make sure your ready for your role
They give you a detailed plan for every week of training.
You do go out with an experienced engineer with good levels of knowledge
They do going give you information and benefits of working for the company.
The salary is less than minimum wage to start with but goes up after 6 months to a reasonable level.
They do say you can train in other parts of the business.

They do seem to spend alot of money and time in training staff.
