I am currently a project coordinator in the leadership learning and talent team. I have responsible for engaging stakeholders, liaising with 3rd party suppliers, creating communication playbooks and user guides.
My self awareness has been enhanced during the course. I am aware of my driving values and what I am good at. My time management and organisation skills have increased.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the degree side of the program. The modules and theory I have studied are fascinating and I wish to continue my studies after completing the degree.
Not very, at times I have been made to feel like an outsider because I am on the course. I also feel that I am a free resource rather than a person. No effort has been made to assist me with finding a role after the degree.
Average, the university is faultless. However the Barclay's support is ineffective. Important issues take months to resolve which is stressful. Line managers are unaware of their responsibilities and I have had to tell them about my program.
A massive amount, considering we are distance students. The tutors respond to emails and calls very quickly which builds trust and confidence. The feedback is most helpful.
Very little. I have had to arrange everything myself, including, finding the degree program in the first place and applying for it. I have been made to feel a nuisance by some line managers.
I am paid well. Not having to pay for the degree is also a bonus. I work from home which saves me a lot of travel fares. The cost of living is relatively low where I live
I feel i do not have the same opportunities as colleagues who work in London. Most of the activities outside of work I have arranged myself. It would have been nice for more opportunities in the north of England
No
A lot of work has to be done around Barclays staff wellbeing and engagement. I have felt that, so long as the customer is happy, nothing else matters, even if that means sickness and stress on the staff.
Learn about Barclay's history. Get some team building/work experience, Learn about the Values, the purpose, digital propositions, show up on time, have a great amount of personal resilience because it will be tested.
