Mr role is supporting a private banker and servicing a portfolio of high net worth and key clients. My day to day jobs consist of processing admin, answering client queries via email and telephone and also processing trade instructions
I have learnt the following key skills - Excellent Communication - Working under high pressure - Teamwork - Problem solving - Service Clients to a very high standard
I really enjoy my programme however I would like more interaction with my programme manager as we very rarely speak, I am mainly looked after my line manager and can often forget that I am on the apprenticeship programme beacause I am so focused on my role.
My colleagues always try and praise me when I acheive somethings and since starting Barclays I have been empowered along the way to take on extra responsability as my experience has developed so I feel value.
I think the programme is very well structured, it provides a clear pathway in terms of role progression and personal development.
I receive lots of support from my training provider and my skills coach is always on hand to deal with my queries.
I receive lots of support from my employer, whenevr I need help in my role I always ask and I always get a positive response. Equally so sometimes on a Friday I have to leave at 4pm instead of 5pm for personal reasons and my business area always accomodates.
My salary covers my costs well as I still live with my parents therefore I do not have any rent to pay however I do believe that apprentices that have to relocate do not get enough support financially and I belive they should be paid a bigger wage as moving from home is very expensive in terms of deposit on a house etc... especially when relocatting to a diffrent area of the country.
Yes, I attend networking events in order to socialise with other professional colleagues accross various diffrent industries.
Yes
the opportunity Barclays have given me is huge and I am so proud to work for the company, the reason why I would recommend Barclays is because the organisation is so big and there are lots of opportunities for you to find a job that you really love doing. I would also mention the people, when I'm at work in my team I dont feel like an apprentice, I am doing the day to day role along side regular full time staff and they empower me by giving me responsibilites often beyond some of my colleagues.
1. Prepare on values 2. Keep your options open 3. Take every opportunity possible 4. Give 100%
