The morning session usually consisted of a workshop on an area of law or on the serveral stages in pursuing a career in law, led by a trainee or newly qualified lawyer. After a break we would spend the rest of the day shaowing a trainee, varying in sector, helping trainees in small ways on several cases and we were given many oppurtunities to talk to them about the profession. Over the week, we were also given a quiz to complete in spare time, with the highest score winning a prize at the end of the week.
Networking skills and people skills evovoled greatly, as for some it was the first time being so immersed in such a professional environment. Commercial awareness was also a hugely developed skill, as we were able to appreciate the differences between studying law and practising it.
I enjoyed my placement immensely, as the other students were all friendly and we were given ample time to get to know each other before diving into the actual work. The firm was very welcoming and inclusive, it truly felt as if the trainees were happy to talk to us and help us with our responsibilities.
Extremely. I was never rushed or overlooked, and the trainees were never hesitant to involve us in their work or to elaborate and help with our jobs.
Very well organised. It was a challenging experience, and we were never left without something to do. The workshops were informative and fun, whilst the shadowing was immersive and varied.
A lot of support was provided throughout the programme. Problems were rare or small, but when encountered the trainees were always very approachable and helpful.

It was a work experience programme, so no salary there. But we were extremely well taken care of and the lunch on the last day was icing on the cake.
Yes! The programme gives you a lot of advice and training on further internships and insight oppurtunities such as vacation schemes
Yes
It had a very good balance between fun and challenging, whilst the firm was very welcoming and I felt extremely involved in the programme. The organisation of the week was also a high point.
Learn the route well before the week starts! The small streets can get a bit confusing. Google Maps is your friend
