I shadowed trainee solicitors and received presentations on various different types of law. Tasks involved researching mediators, researching about the economy, photocopying, creating bibles etc.
I've developed different ways of looking at things, even just by chatting to the trainees. The week mainly helped to enhance my communication skills.
I really enjoyed it! The trainees were all really helpful and keen to give advice on my future options, A Levels, Unis etc. I also enjoyed having the chance to experience the different branches of law as I was in a different department each day - this was really beneficial and insightful. Being able to meet pupils my own age who were also doing work experience was also a great opportunity and I have remained in contact with some. The week certainly exceeded my expectations.
I was made to feel really welcome by everyone at the firm and the presentations attempted to involve everyone taking part in the work experience. The trainees really appreciated and talked through any work that we did which felt rewarding.
Very, the induction tour was useful and the presentations that were organised were really insightful and eased us into the day. Sometimes there was not always something to be done however this was not too much of a problem as we had the quiz to complete or research on news websites that was encouraged.
Trainees always gave feedback on tasks and supported us where help was needed. They did not leave us with things that we were unsure about and were always on hand to answer questions.
This question isn't really relevant but everyone in the firm was supportive in general.
Not relevant.
Not relevant although they advertised their gap year programme etc.
Yes
It was a fantastic week with a lot of information, opportunities and many chances to ask questions and gain advice from experienced people. I was made to feel very welcome and looked forward to working each day.
Definitely apply because it is worth it - although the application form may seem lengthy it is worth the time taken to complete it.
