I currently sit on the HRBP team for Finance which means I get a range of experience from all over HR, from promotions to disciplinaries, new joiners to redundancies etc.
I have learnt so many new things and done things I never thought I was capable of
My rotation is fantastic and the studying is greatly complimentary however there can be a few niggles but they are manageable
By my team I would say 10, however outside the team I would say it drops slightly, for example if you explain you are not a grad I feel people percieve you as somewhat less of an employee - so I just don't mention it unless prompted
The study is well structured and the rotations seem to work reasonably well however communication is often lacking and so it does not always feel as well organised as it could be
My tutor specifically is great, as was my previous MOL tutor
My current team give me plenty of support and are always happy to help. They make my study feel like a huge achievement and always ask me what I am workign on or if I have any thoughts given my studies - it makes it feel totally worth while and gives me pride and motivation even when balance can get tough! I am aware sadly though that this is great luck on my part and has not been the way for all teams I have been a part of (which sadly means I have to drop from a perfect 10)
The salary is extremely competitive in comparison with other apprenticeships however travelling in to canary wharf and trying to compare with my peers in London can be challenging i.e. buying clothes, coffees and lunches.
Beig a part of the networks has given me great opportunities to do things outside of work that I enjoy taking advantage of
Yes
I have been given some great opportunities here and have worked on some fantastic things with some amazing people. A few tweaks need to be made but overall the programme is so much more than you could hope
Just go for it - I knew nothing about my area when I joined, just that I wanted to learn and I have changed more than I could have hoped. You gain experience, knowledge and opportunities that are not available to all so just go for it!
