I work for a team that supports back-end infrastructure for multiple payment/ transaction based midrange systems. On a day-to-day this involves incident, problem and change management as well as project delivery.
Through working on a more niche platform and completing my apprenticeship course I have improved by overall knowledge of the IT industry covering multiple technologies.
My programme has exceeded my expectations massively, It allows me to combine my interest in problem solving as well as delivering tasks on a day-to-day basis allowing for new challenges every day to increase my knowledge.
I feel very valued and the apprentice scheme is very well run. There is continuous internal recognition provided regarding the apprenticeship as well as recognition for excelling in my day-to-day role.
Very well structured, the 3rd party provider are on hand all the way through the 2 years to allow you to keep on track with the apprenticeship work. Meanwhile the internal colleagues linked to the apprentice scheme are also very helpful as well as multiple alumni available to seek advice.
There is a dedicated tutor provided to you as a point of contact throughout the course, there is also a great online portal which has all the tools you need to complete the course
Both my line manager and colleagues provided great support in ensuring I could combine both learning in my day-to-day role as well as completing my coursework.
The grading scheme at LBG is very good and there is adequate salary to match living/ travel costs.
Yes there are many conventions as well as external training available for you to take part in. There are also oppurtunities such as charity fundraising to take part in.
Yes
Very good apprenticeship scheme with a wide number of roles available to match anyone interested in the financial sector but not sure what area they would want to work in.
Ensure you put the effort into Assessment days & interviews as personal skills are a big part off the application to accompany your CV etc.
