I am an assistant manager for Barclays. My daily role includes supporting colleagues with their customer conversations, coaching, and developing their skills.
I have learned about different learning styles, my leadership style and my team role. Through my learning I have also developed around my knowledge on Brand awareness, customer service, working as a team and improving my entrepreneurship skills.
I am really enjoying it. I have networked with colleagues who I would not have managed to speak to before and am excited about learning more about leadership and management.
I feel extremely valued. They are investing in my future and giving me a great opportunity to develop key skills and it gives me confidence that i am a key member of staff who has a future in the company
Structure is great. Well laid out and future dates have been given well in advance. Each study block is well prepared and time is clearly structured. More stucture around the start of the programme would have been better and set study days would support me in my role.
Lots of training support provided. Including a 1-2-1 session with my university mentor on my last study block and support from every tutor. Well structured feedback about my work as well.
Good level of support including time to attend my study blocks. More time would be great around study days, where i should be getting a day every 2 weeks, I have yet to have a study day.
Barclays covers all costs. Course fees, travel, food and drink is all included in what we do. Absolutley spot on with this.
I imagine that there are opportunities but i do not want to look outside of Barclays.
Yes
Barclays is the greatest company that I have worked for. there are so many opportunities to progress. The colleagues that I have worked for and with have been inspirational and always push me to do the best that i can.
Be yourself. Barclay employs a wide range of people, with different skills and backgrounds. Have a passion for customers, think about what could be going on in their lives and have a desire to be sucessful.
