Trade Analyst, daily tasks include managing payments, correspondence with other banks/customers and account reconciliations. I have daily interactions with my team which is around 20 people, trade customers and other banks across the globe.
RBCB, Specialist Certificate in Trade Based Money Laundering, increased confidence and organisational skills as well as learning the importance of networking and maintaining contacts
Thoroughly enjoyed the programme, networking days were really well organised and communicated, the culture is very inclusive - I really enjoyed it
I was nominated for Apprentice of the year by my learner assessor which I won for the West Midlands, this has been recognised across the business and my manager
Studying support was always there from management to ensure I met deadlines and they were always more than happy to give me extra responsibilities to aid the qualification
My tutor was fantastic, always really supportive for me and not biased at all towards one particular business area, support was really accessible from the learning pages
My manager always encouraged time for me to study and allow my tutor to attend the business site, if I ever had problems with work/life balance there was always support
The salary is exactly the same as someone else in the same role who is not an apprentice and I also benefitted equally from any bonuses or expense benefits
I became an apprentice ambassador when I first started to advocate the scheme which means I've been able to attend careers fairs and networking events
Yes
Because you are treated equally as a colleague rather than 'just an apprentice' and it's a really inclusive environment for you to start your career and progress
Pay attention!! When I applied and I received an email to say I needed to complete some online tests I was a bit nervous but as long as you read the questions fully and are confident in your ability it is fine. Also be yourself – I attended an assessment day as the second part of the application process and I actually enjoyed it, it’s important to think of it as an opportunity.
