I work within residual custody settlement which is a back office operations role within the corporate investment banking side of JPM. This involves me monitoring and facilitating the settlement of physical equities and gilts for our underlying clients and liaising with middle office contacts in order to do so.
I have definitely learnt how to conduct myself in a mature workplace and grown in confidence dramatically. During my course, I have also developed my time management and prioritization skills.
I enjoy my program, however I feel as though the organization regarding the professional qualification has been very poor and means that I will have to continue with my studies after I have finished my course.
I feel as though I am treated in a similar way to a normal employee and that I am not subject to any discrimination as a result of my age. I do however feel as though the support network could be better.
The organization is good in terms of my day to day work. However, the organization regarding the qualification side of the apprenticeship has been poor.
I received a sufficient level of support. I have not asked too much of the training provider as I worked hard in order to pass all my exams first time.
The Junior talent team supports the apprentices very well and addresses any issues we might be facing in or outside of work. My manager himself is not so supportive.
I live at home so the salary has been sufficient for me. However, I think roll off wages should be more down to your performance in the exams and the junior talent team as managers are always looking to keep costs to a minimum.
Yes there is plenty of opportunities to get involved in company sports teams and other types of societies. Employees are given the chance to earn a place sailing in the round the island race.
Yes
There is good opportunity for flexibility and progression, especially if you can get your foot in the door of a growing department.
Make sure that you do sufficient research before telling the junior talent team which role you would like to pursue, as this is very important and can make or break your experience.
