I am doing a Software development apprenticeship so It involves working in a team to develop website applications for Sky.
I have learned many new skills and improved existing ones including programming languages such as JavaScript using React and Angular, HTML and CSS.
I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship with the work I have to complete and the team I'm in is always helpful. Sky as a company also gives you many amazing benefits.
I have felt valued and a part of the team since day one. Everyone is friendly and even senior people are happy to give up some time to talk to you so you can always get help if needed.
The support is very good and the training is good. It encourages us to manage time more effectively with having to still complete work as well as coursework for the qualificatoin.
I receive a lot of support usually via email from my training provider and they are happy to answer any questions I have and usually get back to me within a day so it doesn't stop my progress.
Sky supports apprentices very well and offer you a lot of new opportunities to get involved with. I have monthly 1-to-1 session with my manager to catch up on progress and development.
Sky have multiple benefits to help assist with different types of travel and offer sky buses to the nearest train stations as well as a good apprenticeship salary.
As I have mentioned previously there are many opportunities that Sky encourage you to take part in. This include many networking events, training days and conferences that can help you develop in your career.
