I am a software engineer, as part of the software engineering academy. I work in a team to develop software for Sky. We move between different parts of the business throughout the course.
I have learned good skills such as working in a team and acting professionally. I have also learned a number of programming languages such as JavaScript and C.
I really enjoy the course because everyone is really nice and supportive, and i get to learn how different parts of the business work.
I feel very valued by Sky, they try their hardest to include you in activities from Christmas parties to drinks after work.
The course is almost too structured as from day one we were told exactly how the course would work, what coursework we would do and when.
My trainer is available almost all the time on the phone and we have lots of meetings with him.
We are given time from work to complete coursework, right now i work from home every Friday to complete coursework.
We are paid enough to live with some money left over, as i live with my parents, i have a lot left over.
Yes, we are always invited to activities held by Sky academy and we go out after work with colleagues.
