I work in an Agile team so we carry out Agile methods through out the day. We have a stand up and this is when we discuss what we did the day before and what we will do today. Then I pair program tackling tasks and go to meetings. Lunch is great because we have 6 restaurants to choose from.
I have gained a lvl 4 qualification in ICT which is awesome. I have greatly developed my skills towards programming. I have gained great team working skills and learnt how to thrive in a fast moving industry.
I think the starting out scheme is one of the best programmes available due to its amount of support provided to those on the course.
I feel very valued at Sky within my team and managers above. They seem to appreciate the work i put towards projects and understand my level of confidence. I have been recognises across several teams for work I have done.
Training and support is very structured and thought through. Initially it was very rough and inconsistent with training but it improved greatly when we changed training provider.
I received lots of support from my training provider as I was able to email or call him to ask him to clarify questions and approach towards coursework.
I receive support from everyone at Sky, everyone is happy to help those in need which is a great working environment.
The apprenticeship salary is appropriate, I dont spend much on rent so its fine.
There are a lot of sports groups that gather outside of working hours. There are gym classes that take place too. There are a lot of developer groups that get together for meals and drinks which is nice for building relationships.
Yes
There is a lot of support from those around you, you keep up to date with all the new technologies rather than stuck to a learning plan like school. The training provider was excellent and the money keeps you even happier to work here.
Research into sky and its Sky behaviours to understand what our aims as a company are. Also understand what we do and our products its surprising how many interviews i have done and the person has no idea how many projects there are at Sky.
