My job title is UHNW Wealth Management Apprentice. I work mainly client's accounts and help to maintain them. I also closely shadow CAA's and CA's to learn more about my division.
I am currently studying for the IOC qualification. I have also developed many skills whilst being at UBS. One of them is my interpersonal skills which has help boost my confidence immensely.
I love working at UBS. The people, the building and the work I di itself makes not going to Uni the right choice for me.
Upon completing projects or work from various people, as long as you've completed it to the best of your ability and with high quality- you're made to feel very special! People really do understand that you're new and need contact re-assurance and praise to keep you motivated.
The induction period was 6 weeks. You learn a lot during that time. It prepares you for your actual on desk job and role. By then, you also know everyone in your intake and it just seems less scary.
BPP are decent at reminding us about webinars or study days. You get assigned an Apprentice manager that helps you during your Apprenticeship which I think is quite helpful. They are kind of like yours and your managers 'go to' person.
Support at UBS is excellent. Everyone here is well established and successful so you feel comfortable asking them questions about anything- on desk work or even exams. Loads of tips and advice come your way!
I live at home so my salary does me very well. The benefits package is excellent! On top of that, working at UBS gets you a lot of perks that you wouldn't get at other companies e.g. discounts/car insurance.
I have participated in 2 volunteering activities and have thoroughly enjoyed it. You really do feel like you're making a difference- that's how well organized everything is. I hear there are also language classes which I definitely need to get involved in!
Yes
The status of UBS is enough for anyone to want to apply. However, the people here are what make working worth it. The support and motivation is immense and you feel like you're working with like minded people. The building is excellent too!
Make sure you know your stuff about the company and about current and market affairs. Other than that, be confident, smile and don't be afraid to be yourself.
