My apprenticeship is in Development. On a daily basis I work with the development team with completed relevant paperwork and making samples up in the kitchen. I also attend customer submissions to take notes but will be further involved in the future.
I have learnt valuable communication skills and personal development skills. On my bi-weekly college course I have learnt how to collect data correctly and then display it in an easy to read manner.
I enjoy coming to work everyday. Everyday is different and poses a new challenge. My team are very close and work together efficiently. The job met every expectation but the course hasn't unfortunately.
I feel that I am a valued member of the team. I am treated the same as everyone else even though I am an apprentice. I get regular feedback from my manager and always get involved with any projects.
My programme is well structured. Every 2 weeks I have college on site and the rest of the time I'm working. I get free time to study if needed and have training on a regular basis.
I don't get much support from my training provider towards my job but they are very supportive towards me passing my course. If I need help with anything they are quite happy to help me.
My employer is very supportive. I have regular feedback sessions with my manager and HR. Also I have regular mentor sessions where I am given tasks to complete to help me within my role.
For an apprentice wage it is really good. I haven't lost much money from when I was working full time. Any travel cost including fuel are cover by the company during working hours.
We have charity events and team outings which involve work. I have made many new friends. We also have a gym discount within the factory.

It is a great opportunity if you want to work within the food manufacturing industry. The pay isn't at all bad. If your hard working and willing to learn this opportunity is for you.
Be yourself - the application process is quite informal and you should be interviewed by your direct manager if you get the job. Don't miss the opportunity.
