I work within System Access Support where we support business areas by receiving requests for systems and raising subsequent requests to IT. I also administer some systems and give the user access to them. I re-set users passwords on receiving requests and answer calls from the business areas we supprt
Since doing my apprenticeship, I have moved roles and grades. I was originally in an admin team and I am now in an IT Support Team, so all the skills I have learned within this role are new as this is completely different to the role I had before.
I completed my programme sometime ago but I did enjoy this which has helped me within my previous and current roles about putting the customer first. I was also in a Service Excellence project which I feel put very good use of the skills I learned within the programme.
Overall I do not feel a valued colleague in the big scheme of things because of previous issues after a career break but within my team, I do feel valued
It was very well organised and structured, I was aware what I was doing and when everything was to be completed and when my observations were being carried out.
I received a lot of support from my training provider, they guided me through the course and helped with any queries that I had.
I received a lot of support from my employer, they asked me to go on the apprenticeship programme and gave me the required time out for my observations and for conferences that would be helpful for me to attend
My salary package is not great but again this is to do with a career break I took, on my return my employer put me back to starting salary even though I had 10 years of experience in the bank, 5 years on I only earn £1000 more than when I took the career break. I am however in a new role on a new grade so managed to move up wages quickly, as if I stayed at the same grade, I would still be earning at least £2000 under what I left on
Unsure of the question, if you mean other jobs, then yes, there are lots of other opportunities available
No
Only because of the way I was treated on return from my career break, I felt unvalued and they did not seem to care.
Not to apply for a temp job as that is how everyone seems to be taken on and then made permanent after a long wait.
