From Monday to Friday we are based in Coventry, while here we are trained by our training provider with such skills as electrical, fitting, pneumatics. On two days a week I spend several hours working to complete my level 3 btec.
I have learnt how a pneumatic circuit works. I have developed my skills in electrical maintenance, milling and turning. I will be taught IT to improve my skills later in the year
I am currently content with the training provided. I am, however, very eager to begin working at my company's site near where I live.
I feel like a very valued member of the company. I believe that we are all becoming more Amazonian every week.
The organisation could definitely be improved for the training, there are often certain things overlooked but a good amount of time things eventually work out. The fact that there are 2 years of BTEC for some students in 1 definitely shows that the teaching in that aspect is very rushed.
When needed support is provided. Some lecturers are more lenient than others whereas others seem very stressed with the workload. This has become much more noticeable towards the end of the first year.
We have regular reviews which overview what we have improved on, completed, and aim to complete before the next review.
All expenses are paid for by the company along with a very generous wage, especially for an apprentice in my first year.
While training some apprentices have made new friends and tried some of the local sports facilities.
Yes
Amazon really care about their employees. Working with Amazon also has many benefits that almost everyone would have to be pleased with.
Be prepared for some new challenges that will develop you into a proud Amazonian. While you may find the first year mostly away from home quite challenging, you can always look forward to gaining your qualification and finally working closer to home.
