  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Interactions internally with colleagues, externally with suppliers. Daily tasks, such a assembling trade on a Monday which is also a responsibility, monitoring intake on Tuesdays etc.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have a great team, that I enjoy working with. I also enjoy the company of the other apprentices Tesco has a great work culture

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Tesco?
  • I would say I do feel valued, my team nominated me for employee of the month. My manager and other team members recognise my work.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say that it could be more organised. The Tesco Enspire apprenticeship means that I have to go to college every other Wednesday. I have been booked on to training courses multiple times on the days I have to attend college, this could easily be improved.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • My tutor at college is quite supportive, she shows great empathy with all of us but then can also mark some people's work very harshly and others not so much. She gives great advice but can be very particular.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive support from Tesco, however I have had no massive issues since starting the company. I am aware of someone else on my programme who has been really let down by Tesco through time when she needed support, and is now looking to leave her role completely.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My salary does meet my costs, however I live a long way from the office and tend to use a lot more petrol than most of the other people in the office. It would sometimes help to receive and extra £15 a week to help petrol costs, which is my personal opinion other than that the salary is great!

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • As Enspire students are part of F&F not Tesco, we are quite separate so there aren't many of the Tesco sports and social classes advertised to us. Company events specific to F&F are advertised which is good, and sport classes are available at the office in the morning which is great but they are very expensive.

  • 9. Would you recommend Tesco to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend a job at one of the Tesco office's to a friend, this is due to all the friendly helpful people I am surrounded by everyday. The amount of training available is amazing, and for anyone to work or train with Tesco is a great opportunity.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Tesco?
  • To think outside the box as you as a person. Think about who you are and what you stand for morally, and how this effects you daily. I would advise them to have some form of work experience to reflect upon in their interview process that really helped me!
