My day to day role includes carrying out a lot of the admin tasks for my team, whilst also developing an understanding of the work my team produces. I was responsible for creating a tracker which monitors the work my team needs to do and the date it must be done by, a large part of my daily role involves updating this tracker.
I have developed a large number of existing skills and also learned valuable new ones too. I have continued to develop my skills using Microsoft office and I feel I am much more confident in using it now. I have also started to learn how to use SQL, this is something that is completely new to me and I have really enjoyed learning it.
I have found the programme very enjoyable. The team that I have joined have been so welcoming and have done everything that they can to ensure I am settling in well. I really enjoy working for RBS as they are very supportive of their staff and their development.
I feel very valued by RBS. My line manager always tells me when I have done a good piece of work and lets me know the positive impact this has had for our team. This helps me to know that the work I am doing is valuable to the company.
I felt to begin with my programme wasn't very organised as nobody could really tell me exactly what it would entail. However once I actually started my role I felt everything was a lot more organised. I have plenty of people who I can go to for help and support and that helps me to feel a lot more comfortable.
I find that the support I receive from my training provider is excellent. I have at least 3 different people from the provider that I can contact at any time to receive help or advice. The whole team there are very positive and are great at helping answer any queries I may have.
I also receive a lot of support from my employer. My manager is wonderful and so are the rest of my team. I know that I could approach them with any problems I may have and they would try their best to help me.
I feel my salary meets my costs very well. My salary comfortably covers the cost of my living expenses and my travel costs and still leaves me with enough every month to be able to build up some savings for larger purchases.
There are a lot of opportunities outside of work although I have not yet tried any of these out for myself. It is very good to know that they exist though and I will be keen to try some out in the future.
Yes
I would recommend RBS to a friend as my experience working for them has been very positive so far. I find they are a great company to work for who are very good at supporting their staff whilst they develop.
The only piece of advice I would offer is that the application process can be quite long but it is definitely worth it at the end. The on boarding process was great and I was made to feel very welcome from the minute I walked in the door.
