my role is a moment personal banker, I am telephony personal banker dealing with variety of queries from balances, saving queries to more complicated fraud and not-recognised transactions and always providing a high standard of banking service.
I have learned and improved my problem solving skills and I have used my communications skills to good effect. I have learnt how banking business operates and how it makes its revenues and continues to be the front leader in finance. I am constantly being challenged with my organising, researching and working to deadline skills sets.
I am enjoying the challenge of a new career in which I have not had exposure to before and I am always challenged in taking in new information and working in a very fast paced and changing environment.
I feel very valued from day one and even though the environment is changeable at very short notice, I feel like my feelings and needs are always listened to when I talk to management.
I feel the programme could have been better balanced in terms of work load with the demands of learning a new role, hence I had to go part-time in order to manage my workload as working fulltime and doing a diploma side by side took its toll on my stress levels and well being.
I receive sufficient support from my training provider as and when I require it and the support is a email or phone call away, which is very reassuring.
I receive sufficient support but I feel better communication channels could be developed between the employer and the training provider to help the apprentice in its goals to reach the stars in its ambitions.
I feel the salary is sufficient for the role initially as you developing your skills, but needs to be matched with other staff as you move along with the apprenticeship.
The company has a onsite gym and getting involved with digital eagles and other social events when their arranged during the year for charities. I feel more need to be done to provide equal opportunities to disabled employees as is offered to able bodied employees.
Yes
I would recommend Barclays, because it tries to deliver on its equal opportunities manifesto and offers its employees with a chance to develop and work up the ladder within the company.
Research company, be confident in the interview, show passion to deliver excellent service to Barclays customers and be willing to adapt with the company needs.
