Currently working towards BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying at universtiy. Have been on a number of training courses including First Aid, IOSH and a variety of computer software courses including Solibri, Navisworks, Revit and Excel.
The work can be challenging but I work with a great team who are always there to help. Some areas of the programme are focussed towards people entering their first job rather than those who have worked before.
Involved in various different tasks on site including change process and subcontract packages. Managers do show appreciation for a job well done.
The cohort meets for training and catch up sessions 2/3 times a year. Other training is also available outwith the prgramme. Studying at university once a week and support is available if required.
The university I attend isn't well organised with room allocations being too small for the number of people in the course. Some subjects seem outdated and some lecturers have bad attitudes towards the students.
Manager and HR Team are always available if any issues arise to provide guidance and support. No real serious problems have came about thus far but I know the support is there if needed.
Currently living at home as the site is within te same town. Travel costs to university are reimbursed the following month via expenses.
The company hosts roadshows and voluntary events regularly for anyone who wishes to get involved. Each project will select local charities to support for the duration of the project.
