I am a trainee construction manager and this involves me managing tasks and trades on a daily basis to ensure that the construction is being carried out to a good quality, on-time and with all health and safety considerations. I communicate with many different cub-contractors and also communicate with mace managers to ensure that information is well communicated. I am responsible for organizing daily activities according to the project program and making sure that supervisors are aware of what needs to be done.
yes I have learnt many new skills while being on this apprenticeship. it has taught me communication skills, team work, organization, working under pressure and many more. mace has enrolled me on many internal and external training programs such as asbestos awareness, working at height, assertiveness training and many more. Mace are keen to help me improve and gain knowledge in this ever changing environment.
I enjoy everything about the apprenticeship and it is an amazing company to be working with. There is always a great team on every site and in the office and there is a great company culture which is focused on safety quality and the pursuit of a better way. it has exceeded my expectations.
Mace is a company which strives to value all of its employees and I do feel valued. there are internal awards such as apprentice of the year. mace also provide certificates for training.
the program follows an organized portfolio which clearly identifies essential areas of learning and there are also regular training sessions. the course begins with an induction day. you are also assigned a mentor and are supported by many people within the company. it is very organized.
the learning provider for the university course is London Southbank University and it is a day release course. training which is provided by Mace is always very good and always an enriching experience. all the tutors are entertaining and welcoming.
my manager is constantly supporting me and we hold regular meetings to identify where I am doing well and areas which I may need improvement. the HR team are always readily available and the teams are always willing to support me with any issues I may have. Training which is provided by Mace is always very good and always an enriching experience. all the tutors are entertaining and welcoming.
the salary has exceeded my expectation and is much higher that the average apprentice wage. travel expenses are all covered by mace.
yes there are many volunteering events that mace arrange for all colleagues and also sporting events. they also provide discount at gyms .
