On a day to day basis I used to work on site going around and checking the install process of the MEP (mechanical Electrical and public Health) equipment is installed. I would also be in charge of Subcontractors this required Organizing there Work load and Drawings Commenting on any issues and working with the subcontractor on a daily basis. I have recently moved into an office based role in head office now working in the Digital engineering Department working on the Offsite manufacturing process.
My communication skills have improved. I have improved on my Computer skills.
I really enjoy my programme. Each year we have modules which get the whole year together these programme include luring more about the company working on team work and luring more about the industry. We work 5 days a week with 1 day release, this helps with the uni/collage work as the theory can be put into practice on the other 4 days a week improving our theory and Practical knowledge.
Yes,I have been moved for my mental health and the company unlike many don't just see you as a number they ask you yourself and how y9ou are doing this is seen especially in the programme.
the Programme is very well structured and each year includes the following:- Quartly reports to be written by the individual Cadet Modules that pre work and post work is to be completed for, that in themselves are planned and arranged with months of notice.
I revive a lot of support in my first year at uni I didn't do so well the programme and the company supported me when I arranged to complete another course that was more suited for my learning Style.

My salary for my age is fantastic. it meets all my costs with the transportation to Cadet modules and sites paid for by the company.

Yes
I have recommended Laing O'Rourke to Family and Friends as I believe that there are so many opportunities that can be gained by being on the School leavers Programme.
Don't panic, Be yourself, Don't try and pass the interview with what you think the company want to be. In the Face to Face interview stage there was a group discussion don't let others get In your way go for it and put in your word. It can be a daunting process but if its something you want you have to be confident, and don't let the other applicants put you off.
