Job title is a intelligence gathering officer, I am authorised to request information such as bank statements in order to prove or disprove allegations of benefit fraud. As I am authorised under the Social Security Fraud Act I have a responsibility to work within the law in my daily role.
I am getting a Level 4 NVQ in business administration including a higher level certificate. I have completed a training course to get the authroised officer powers to be able to complete my daily role. I have learnt a lot including the legistaltion required and improving my analytical skills.
I throughly enjoy the work as there is a wide variety of interesting cases, and I find great satisfaction in helping a case along. The team are very focused on training me and I cannot fault them. My expectations have been met.
I feel very appreciated by my manager and my team and feel I get recognition for my work and the effort I put in to learning my role. I do feel valued on the whole however I am still in the learning stage so there is only so much I can do.
My induction was completed when I first arrived. The training for my job is still on going and will be a long process. I feel I have support from the team and my line manager.
I have met my tutor twice and he gave information on the start of the learning part of the apprenticeship. He is very quick to reply to questons. I am awaiting my first college day.
I reveive ongoing support from my line manager, through our weekly 121's and any other time I need support. Any queries I have had have been answered and help provided whenever I've needed it.
The salary meets my living costs acceptably. However as I have to travel a long way to get to work my travel costs are very high (£90 a week) which greatly impacts my wage.
I have been to a conference when I first started as an induction for apprentice's. I am aware of the lesiure activities available through work.
Yes
It is a fantastic opportunity and provides a range of locations and jobs which you can do. As well as this I am getting a recognised qualification which will help me in the future.
The application process was lengthy and so became quite stressful. Preparation before the online application and the interview is especially important. There are many opportunities if you can pass the application.
