1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I assist in designing and developing collaboration tools, which increase communication and efficiency within other teams in the firm. I also assist, where possible with the testing of the solutions and debugging portions of the system.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have worked with many cutting-edge technologies. I have also improved my programming skills on JavaScript(NodeJS). I have also improved my soft skills. This include presentation skills, networking skills and communication skills.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am enjoying the programme so much. I have been given an opportunity to make an impact from the first day at the office, which has allowed me to gain loads of experience. Your team also supports you in every way, and the culture of the company is superb.

4. How valued do you feel by Goldman Sachs?

I feel valued by my employer. I am always working on projects that has an impact to the firm and out clients.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well structured. There was an induction training to enable smooth introduction to the firm and its cultures. We are also assigned a buddy, who answers our informal queries. Furthermore, we are assigned mentors, who are there to advice you, mainly on your career progression.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

In this team we design and develop collaboration tools, which increase communication and efficiency within other teams in the firm.

There is all round support from managers and colleagues, the HR team also provide additional support as well.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

The salary is able to cover my living cost, travel cost, and daily/social cost. I also have some remainder to save as well.

There is a wide variety of extracurricular club and networks, ranging from sport clubs to voluntary clubs. There is also regular company activities as well

Yes

It is a very good company, which upholds its value and culture. Every employee is treated like an asset to the firm and given the opportunity to make an impact.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Goldman Sachs?

Make sure to do some research into the company before applying and always show your passion for technology. Having an interest in technology, no matter what kind will help you go a long way.
