I attended the Mace Build UK Open Doors Event, where I met a number of Mace personnel in a variety of roles. This offered me the opportunity to network with them and to gain a better understanding of what the role entails. I was also able to complete a site tour, where I was able to explore a site and understand the day to day running of it.
I learnt how to network with others. I also learnt from other Apprentice Quantity Surveyors what I could expect should I be successful in the application process.
I found the day very interesting. It surpassed the expectations that I had from the day. In part this was due to the welcoming nature of all of the team at Chelsea Barracks. It was very interesting talking to people who are already on the career path that I am wanting to go into.
Having spoken to the Mace employees, Mace seems a very good company to work for. Everyone was very complimentary about the company and were friendly, approachable and knowledgeable to us at all times.
The programme was very well structured and there were always opportunities for questions. This allowed me to gain additional knowledge through the day and reinforce my beliefs that Construction is the industry for me.
This is Non Applicable to me, however everyone was very approachable on the day and answered all of the questions I had prepared. I greatly enjoyed the day.
This is Non Applicable as I was only there for the Mace Open Doors, however I found the talks from management personnel very informative.
This is Non Applicable as I only attended the Mace Open Doors Event. A starting salary and pay structure was discussed.
We were informed about Mace volunteer days and the opportunities of putting something positive back into the local community.
Yes
Mace seem a very good company to work for because they look after and value their employees. From looking at the Mace website, they have tackled successfully some very prestigious and interesting construction projects.
Being lucky enough to obtain Work Experience and attending Mace Open Days have been the key points for me because I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to see the work environment as it really is.
