I work as a Pricing Analyst. Daily duties include doing business reports or price analysis as well as compiling up to date business mix presentations. Additionally, I learned to use SAS and Model software. I am responsible for KPIs, Projections and BAU.
I am currently doing a certificate in insurance and as well as the qualification I have learned to use SAS, SQL and modelling software. In addition, I have improved my communication skills through conversation/Presenting reports and have become a more rounded individual.
I really enjoy working at direct line. The team I work with is very supporting and the company atmosphere is very relaxed which makes it easy to meet new people and interact with senior members at the company. The culture is also unique as it allows for lots of opportunity to voice input and interact with directors/Managers as well as feel included.
I feel as though the work I do is appreciated. My manager is very supporting and have aided my work at all opportunities. In addition many colleagues from inside/outside my office have voiced their appreciation to the work I do and the contributions I have given.
As a late starter my programme focused on getting me up to speed with the others. My team was very supportive and aided my learning so that I could fit in and contribute as quickly as possible. My mentor gave me a plan to work on so that I could improve my skills and overall the programme is well organised so far.
I have received a lot of support and advice from my tutor/advisor relating to training/learning. Not only this but the whole team were very supportive in assisting my studies and continuous development of software knowledge.
In general I have received an amazing amount of support from my employer, colleagues and managers. The team would always look to help resolve any problems or issues I had as well as help train to avoid potential issues in the future. I was always comfortable in asking a colleague for advice or help for any problem
Even though my living costs are very low, the salary was more than enough for my needs. The commitment for national living wage meant I was paid above average. Not only this but the benefits/packages offered were much more important and worthwhile. My travel/daily costs were very low and the location was excellent.
The team were very supportive both at work and outside work. I got on very well with the rest of the team and we planned lots of activities. The work hours also helped encourage free time that I could use for sports/leisure and the location meant that after work meals were easy to organise.
Yes
The company has an ambitious vision and is full of opportunities. The company looks to expand and invest heavily in its people and would be a great place for anybody to join and progress their career or even grow as a person.
The only piece of advice I would offer is for applicants to be themselves when applying. If you look to join direct line, being yourself will help the company work out where you are best suited. This can mean you join an area of the company you wouldn't otherwise have thought about. Not only this but being open and honest is a key part of being a direct line employee, it is even a motto we have.
