My role includes taking PE lessons in a Primary school. I will lead the lessons when I feel comfortable, this is increasing as the year goes on. I also help out in after schools clubs such as athletics, netball and dodgeball. I enjoy doing this as I live to teach others things which I know.
I have developed leadership. I am able to get the children to listen during my lessons. They enjoy what I plan for them and his is the main thing, they need to have fun so that they can enjoy sport. I have also developed my confidence, I am starting to feel more confident when taking the lessons and I feel that this is reflected in my lesson.
I enjoy this programme a lot. We have training twice a month where we complete work and take part in a practical lesson. All the other apprentices can show different games they have learnt and take back to their schools. This programme has helped me gain experience in a school without going to university.
I feel valued within the company. They will email us with things which we can do outside of the apprenticeship.
It is good, all work that needs to be done is emailed to us. Emails that I send are replied back to promptly. I know when the work in. There is also an easy way to submit work and book holidays.
Support from let me play is good. During the training we are able to feedback on how our placement is going. We also have meetings where we set targets for ourselves.
We have weekly meetings with my school employer. During these we are told where we are doing well and what can be improved. We can also feedback to him anything which we are concerned about.
The salary is good, however the only downside it that is costs me over £10 to get the train up to where the training is. Other than that I think that it is good.
Yes. We are emailed with other opportunities which we can apply for such as coaching on weekends.
Yes
Because it has helped me to gain confidence and experience in different areas of sport.
I would say to take every opportunity. Take the school that is given to you because at the time this is the school closest to you. Also try and attend all training sessions as they will help you to finish your coursework and keep on track.
