As an apprentice for network rail, rather than going on day release we go to a designated training school for block periods. Outside training we spend our time with a team. Working on track doing daily tasks.
I have learnt and developed many engineering skills learning everything required for the S&T. It also develops social and teamwork skills.
I thoroughly enjoy every minute of the apprenticeship and think it's taking me into a long and fruitful career.
We are possibly the most valued part of the maintenance side of the company. many employees are former apprentices and we are treated as the future of the railway.
very well. we have pre planned blocks of training
As much as we need. only ever an email away from guidance from instructors or other staff
same as above
we are paid for more than most apprenticeships so very well!
The first year is dedictated to training so there are plenty of sport and social opportunities outside work.
Yes
Best decision I've made. excellent apprenticeship, excellent company!
Show confidence and willingness to learn and develop.
