Trainee auditor. Going to client premises to carry out testing on their financial statements and continuing this in the office. Preparing accounts. Working with different people (in teams) and travelling around the UK, including jobs to commute to and stay away jobs. Working for a variety of different businesses and non-profitable organisations.
I have learnt a lot about general business and accounting. I have nearly completed AAT level 3, then will go onto AAT Level 4 and ACA. I have developed my confidence a lot and my ability to communicate and act in a professional manner.
I really enjoy my programme as there is so much opportunity to learn and improve. I have found that everybody at work has been nice to work with and really kind, helpful and understanding. From what I learnt during the interview process I thought Mazars was going to be a good place to work but even still it did exceed my expectations!
I do feel valued as I do get good feedback and/or constructive criticism from managers and seniors. I always feel part of the team. We are always well congratulated for exam success.
I think my training programme is well structured. We are given the whole day off for college even though we are not there for our whole working hours. All of my colleagues who have been in their training contract longer than I have have given me good advice and support on study. We are always offered extra support from the staff at Kaplan who come in to meet with us for a review session every few months and from staff in the office. There is clear team hierarchy and we are given all the help we need and are not expected to know anything or be able to do it straight away.
A lot of support is offered to us through Kaplan and through work directly, which is easily accessible through speaking to my manager, my AAT reviewer or anyone at Kaplan however I have not yet had the need to have this extra support.
A lot of support is available in every aspect of my training programme. Everyone I have worked with has given me advice and willingly helped me and answered my questions no matter how simple or complex they may be, and offered me extra support/advice if I need it.
Yes
There are a lot of charity and social events that are offered to us outside and inside of work hours.
Yes
I think it is an excellent firm to work for as you can see how you are going to progress in the future and you are given all the support you need to do so. Everyone is extremely kind and helpful.
Just be yourself as personality seems to be quite important.
