on a day to day basis my role changes down to the placement I am in I currently work in logistics so I have interactions with various different sections. I also have interactions with the transport departments and the people who order the parts. I am involved in setting up a new project as well
I have an NVQ L2 and I am working towards me L3 I have become better on the computer after completing training on different software's and tool sets. my personal skills have improved from my confidence to talk in front of people and to having the ability to back myself in situations I have learnt how various areas process, distribute and actually do work.
I really enjoy my work, from the team I work in, as everyone is always welcoming and willing to help. the company culture is very good as the company looks after its employees very well. it has met my expectations and then more it is better than what I expected.
I think apprentices have a large amount of respect from managers as many of them are ex apprentices which isn't always the case. Internally the company has apprentice awards which is always a good occasion. they also do above and beyond awards. The company also give us the opportunity to apply for enrichment activities such as German Exchange, Princess trust and innovation challenge.
the induction to the programme was very structured and we learnt all the relevant information we would need to do well. the training we receive varies down to placement, as we can be sent on various courses as long as they link in with the departments needs. the support we get from colleagues and managers as well as assessors is brilliant we also get real tasks and tasks that matter which is fulfilling
the training provider, gives us plenty of support whilst we are at work and makes life as simple as possible they all seem keen to support you in everything you do their attitude to supporting us is very good, as they want the best for us.
our employer give us a lot of support we get guidance with various issues, the occy health team help us massively so support is regularly available as well which is good. we have assessors but we can get mentors when we come out of our time if we want.
The salary is very good and just about covers all my cost from livening traveling and general daily costs and social costs, I am able to save money whilst on the current wage. and we also have the ability to buy shares a well. which helps as the company match our input up to £75.
the company are very good for oppertunites I have had the ability to visit various schools, college and career events and I am also potentially going to RIAT 2017. the apprentices have various sports teams such as netball and football.
Yes
its a brilliant company and probably the best employer in the local area by a long way. they pay a good wage, look after its employees and various other perks, not many companies would send 12 apprentices to work in Germany for 3 weeks
take your time, don't rush it stay relaxed and work hard in everything you do before it aswell. get into something not everyone does. and just put 110% effort and make yourself stand out from a crowd especially in your application.
