Apprentice maintenance technician for network rail. I am involved in daily inspection and maintenance of overhead line equipment of the railway. Daily tasks include inspection patrols and maintenance tasks to resolve faults.
Start of course is only basic knowledge of engineering so have not yet learnt any relevant skills for the task
Its too early to comment haven't got into maintenance or done anything relevant to job role yet
Feel more valued in second phase i.e. now I am at depot. Management team here are in constant communication and are trying to develop my career. Academic stage i.e. first 20 weeks at training centre felt like I was treated like a school child
Very poor and bad communication between training centre and depot
