Advanced Technical Engineer Apprentice. This involves 3 years of rotating around the different departments within DTO. Depending on the department, it depends on the day to day responsibilities. I have undertaken projects to design new parts, built engines, fixed production problems and helped in HSE.
I have learned a lot about the world of work and developed not just professional skills in dealing with people and building professional relationships but also personal skills such as teamwork etc.
My apprenticeship exceeded my expectations in the sense of the responsibility placed on your from the start. I think this is excellent for personal development.
Very much so. I feel as though I am treated much the same as any other employee. This is testament to Cummins treatment of others policy and how all should be treated the same at work.
Good organisation. There is a structured plan as for the departments I will be in for the next few years along with scheduled monthly reviews with a team of reviewers.
I have regular contact with my assessor. If I have questions he answers them.
As much support as I need. My managers, the HR team and other colleagues are all very supportive in developing apprentices.
Good salary for someone of my age. I have fairly expensive travel costs due to the distance between home and work but my wages are more than sufficient to cover this as well as pay for a good life outside of work.
Yeah, there are many opportunities outside of work. There is a Sports and Social club I am a member of and we also partake in EEEC events. This year I have been into a local primary school to promote STEM.
Yes
Great employer.
Just with the application process the rest is very self explanatory.
