Carrying out training to gain the qualifications, competencies and experience required to gain a job as anew overhead line technician or a higher position relevant to the experience gained
Gained many skills related to railway maintenance and general maintenance skills appliable in many other areas of life as well as teamwork and leadership skills
The first year spent in a navy Base is not the best but that has changed now to a shorter time and different location the second 2 years thoroughly enjoyable as long as you ensure you plan placements properly.
Network rail look after their workers and ensure that you gain all the relevant competencies and experience to carry out work safely and to the full standards.
Once in your depots you organise everything yourself which has its positives and negatives the written work that is required is not greatly explained straight off but if you ask you will get the answers you need
Support is good as long as you ask for it with 200 other apprentices they cannot look after everyone all the time good skills gained from this
If you need something and it's justifiable you will get it especially if safety related will be provided no questions asked
Generic salary across the country which increases yearly living in the south with a higher cost of living it is not possible to live alone and support yourself on thisale salary
Nothing happened outside of work that is work related other than socialising with colleagues which would be arranged with nothing to do with work.

Set you up with a good career with many opportunities and you are valued by the company as well as being looked after with good job security
If you can't live away from home for an extended period of time you can't do it as well as willing to work nights and weekends must be prepared to arrange opportunities to gain skills with other departments
