I am a telephone banking advisor and assist wealthy clients with their day to day banking. This includes making transfers, payments, logging complaints and educating them online.
I have learnt many new skills. Not only have I aquired knowledge of the basics of banking terminology and procedures, i have now built on these and can deal with complex quieries and enquiries such as complaints and faults.
I could not fault Lloyds Banking Group as a place to work and their training. However the apprenticeship has been the most unorganised and disjointed programme I have ever been part of. No consistancy of when I can expect to see my trainer and everything in the booklets I already knew therefore have learnt nothing.
I really enjoy working for Lloyds banking group and will continue to further my career here as I feel well looked after with many opportunities up for grabs.
No structure or consistancy. The first time I saw somebody from the apprenticeship when I started was 6 months since joining Lloyds. Then randomly once in a blue moon without any warning either.
From my first trainer I received no support at all. I asked for help and nobody would reply to my texts or emails or come in to see me. Luckily my second trainer decided to start from scratch with me and talked me through everything I needed to do including why I was doing it and I finished the apprenticeship quickly.
Lloyds has been fantastic with supporting me through the many training courses I have gone on as well as the additionaly opportunities offered in our department.
I have a good salary which has allowed me to meet all my costs of living alone and also allows me to go on a couple of holidays a years meaning I have some spare money each month.
There are lots of opportunities which are always advertised on briefs or by team managers in the department. As well as charity events too which you are always welcome to be a part of.
Yes
The work benefits are fantastic and i feel well looked after in every department I have been in. I feel like a person rather than just a resource in a large company.
I would reccomend Lloyds to anyone but advise to avoid the Level 2 apprenticeship as there are no real benefits to the qualification especially if you have A-levels. I would advise instead to look at the chartered insurance institute website as these are actual valuable qualifications our industry looks for.
