I am a Commercial Apprentice and have been with EDF energy since September 2016. Whilst having the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in the nuclear industry, the Apprenticeship scheme provides me with the opportunity to complete a HNC, HND and a degree in commercial management and quantity surveying. I currently do 4 month placements with different commercial teams, working both on site and at the headquarters in Bristol. By moving teams, I am given the opportunity to work at different stages of a contract; and have been heavily involved in the procurement stage.

I have enjoyed the opportunity to work in a variety of commercial teams as it allows me to learn from a vast number of commercial experts.I currently do 4 month placements with different commercial teams, working both on site and at the headquarters in Bristol. Every team has welcomed me and provided me with the work and valuable experience to enable to develop my skills. Everyone at EDF is treated equally and there is sense of collaboration within the organisation.
Very well structured. Every team has welcomed me and provided me with the work and valuable experience to enable to develop my skills. Everyone at EDF is treated equally and there is sense of collaboration within the organisation. We currently do blocks of work followed by blocks of two weeks of studying. The studying is taken place at the EDF training centre which offers all the modern technology to improve our learning.
I have regular meetings with my mentor, and line managers to help monitor and improve my progress through the programme.
