Network Planner, I plan daily deliveries from a depot into 70 stores; finding the most cost effecting and efficient plan and routes whist delivering into stores within 1 minute time windows.
Yes, While working towards a qualification I have learnt IT skills, problem solving, analysing skills and have adapted quickly in a fast paced working environment all while being guided and trained.
I enjoy my program, I wake up each day looking forward to coming into work and approaching new challenges. I enjoy the fact I am always stimulated and learning new things.
I have fitted well with the team and feel just as valued as any other member, although only an apprentice I never feel to be worth less than any other member off staff.
From a GIST point of view the apprenticeship scheme is very well organised and I receive adequate training and guidance throughout my job. However I have experience problems with a previous learning provider which has often made me feel uneasy about the structure of their program and qualification. I would like to point out that this has now been rectified with a new learning provider and I am pleased so far.
It is currently hard to say as my learning provider has very recently changed, I did not feel very supported by the previous learning provider and often worried about the success of my apprenticeship because of this.
GIST are always willing to support me and as a company make sure there staff feel very valued, I have a been given an apprenticeship mentor which I find very useful. My manager and team are always wanting to guide and support me.
I am please with my salary, compared to other apprenticeship I have seen I believe I am being paid well. I will also receive an annual pay rise and think for an apprentice the pay is good. As I 20 year old with rent and bills to pay I do struggle with costs some months but this will change in September after receiving a pay rise.
Yes, as I work between 07:00 and 15:30 I always have a long evening and time for outside activities and socialising. After work I go to then gym and then return home with time to see friends or activities.
Yes
I always enjoy more job and think GIST is a very good company to work for. GIST try to develop people and seek the best out of them, they are a rewarding company to work for and look after their staff giving them countless opportunities to develop there skills and try new things.
GIST is a very rewarding company to work for and will help develop the best in you. The job can at times be very challenging and is difficult to learn at first but the support is always there and provides a good start to your career.
