My role was to work inside the company to gain experience of what it s like to work in a financial companies firm. This include creating a powerpoint presentation so that I could present it to my team within the service line
I have learnt how to act within a company environment and I also gained a CMI qualification I management which I can use at later stages and which can be useful.
I enjoyed the program because of the activities I took part in such as working in a team and completing tasks meeting new people. Also I enjoyed the opportunity to find new aspects of companies I didn't know much about prior.
I feel valued by EY because the work that I did was real and was going to be integral to a larger scheme, this made me fee as though I had say in the direction of the program.
The program was well organised because I felt as though we were given real tasks to do every day and had there was no filler activities in the scheme to occupy us. This meant that we were active in our work.
My training provider was vey helpful in helping me to gain an understanding of the what was expected of me and what methods I can take to achieve this.
My employer was very helpful as they made sure to schedule ,many meetings for me so that I can meet people from different service lines within the company, this meant that my experience in the company was vast and detailed.
the salary that the smart futures program has provided for me with enough money to completely meet my costs in terms of travel and food expenses. This means I can recoup all the money I spent.
Do to the short length of the program there were not many opportunities outside of the working hours, however there were areas in which we could do leisure activities and allow us to unwind.
Yes
It was a great experience for anyone who wants to gain an insight into the working world, this would mean that they can change some perceptions that they might have and encourage them to join a role in the this industry.
A tip I would give to someone that wants to apply to the EY Smart Futures programme is that they should make sure they regularly check a reply to messages and tasks as quickly as possible so that they can ensure their spot on the programme.
