In this 2 weeks work experience I was exposed to the world of work and how to get ready for the work. I was placed in the Strategy and Customer department where our project clients were Lloyds and I was able to work in client site for few days.
I learned how to make good slides, which is a very important skill to have in this modern world of work. Also I was able to develop my presentation skill during some of the activities we did. For example I had to present with my group for a mobile phone that is designed for 2025.
I loved working with different groups of people on the first week as I got to learn more about them and every person offered something different to the table that I can observe and think about. I made good connections and friends and the people involved in making this project are very nice and supportive people.
I feel very valued by EY as they're working to give back to the community by helping young people from poor background to be successful in life and inspire them to be part of EY in the future. EY invests in people and that makes them very unique to other companies.
The programme was very organised each day, everything was planned vey well, which is why it went very smoothly. There was a lot of hard work put into organising the programme by the employees of EY and that's why everyone enjoyed it and would love to do it again.
There are a lot of employees that are part of this programme to help me and anyone that needs help. The support is remarkable and that's why everyone feels like they're part of something big and enjoyable.
My training provider for the work experience was very nice and explained the work to me in a way which I would understand and everyone else around were there to help if I had any difficulties.
The package I get covers for my travel and all the other expenses very well. It's very good of EY to give us a package in the first place, as work experience are done free by many people. It's an extra incentive provided by EY and that is appreciated by every student involved.
There are many opportunities available outside of work, and we were clearly made aware of that during this programme. It all depends on us and how much we want it.
Yes
It is a once in life time opportunity to be involved with. The programme will allow to build yourself for the future of work life and point towards the right direction of where you want to be in the future. You get to network with a variety of people and make connections, who can help you if you need any help in the future. I can talk about the benefits of the programme for a long time, but this is just an overview.
My main advice would be to get involved with EY beforehand and make a lot of connections with the employees. They will be able to help you the most in terms of getting tips for application, interviews and any other support. EY invests in their employees and that's what you need to present to them-the best of you.
