  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role was to work in a group and give a presentation on a said topic. I had to read articles, research my section and make slides on what I found. On a day-to-day basis, I had to arrive at the office and work at a desk on my laptop. There were times when I needed to attend meetings, listen to talks and begin networking.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The new skills I learnt were networking and how to build a network through talking to working professionals. I got to develop existing skills such as presentation by working on my confidence from body language to public speaking. I also learnt the skill of presenting to a team of professionals at the firm.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed meeting new people and talking to them about what I'd like to do in the future. The team were really friendly and so it was easy to talk to them. The company was extremely people friendly and everyone was so open. It wasn't exactly what I expected because I though that I would simply be getting a whole lot of admin.

  • I felt quite valued at the firm as the team were very appreciative of our efforts in working here. I was involved in tasks that weren't active but involved listening to people talk. The recognition I received from everyone at the company was good and they also gave constructive feedback in how I may be able to improve.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was structured and organised to an extend. For the first week, it involved an induction and a lot of admin. However, for the business experience they would sometimes squeeze in small sessions if they felt we needed it. I also got constant support through out my time at the company.
