Everyday was different but essentially everyday I would take part in workshops and develop new skills. Such as communication skills, interview skills and personality tests. I worked in tax, so I could see how jobs are done on a day to day basis and what they require.
I have learnt lots of new skills, such as how to coach and give effective feedback. I have also developed my confidence and people skills as I have met and talked to new people from all ranks and my peers.
I enjoyed it a lot. Everyday was something new and interesting and I made lots of new friends and did things I had never done before, such as creating business proposals and taking part in dragons den.
I feel very valued here at EY. First of all, I was chosen for this opportunity but I got constant praise and feedback no matter where I went within the programme and who I worked with. Whether it was working in the tax department or just doing different workshop skills.
It was very well organises as we would do a set amount of work. We would get breaks and have time for lunch. This allowed us to be refreshed and ready for then next task. There was always something to do and also challenging enough.
I receive a lot of support.I feel very much supported and I don't feel afraid to fail or ask questions as I know I will be helped and given the best answer and helped thoroughly.
I receive a lot of support from the managers I had throughout the 2 weeks. Even from the people who were ranked very high were very down to earth and ready to help and listen to and answer any question we may have had. I never felt like I was struggling as help was always available when needed.
I only did a 2 week work experience and I didn't do it for the money, it was just an added bonus. I am still in college and I live with my parents so I don't have any costs needed to be covered.
There are going to be alumni events and we will get an opportunity to attend these and meet some other people, who have a high ranking. It has sparked an interest in the business world so I will lookout for any other similar opportunities EY might provide for me.
Yes
It will allow them to develop lots of skills and maybe find a place in the working world. It allows them to have a clearer picture of what they want to do and where they might see themselves in the future. It opens lots of new doors for them.
I would say that be yourself. Don't try to hard to be out of the box but give unique answers and be confident. This was my first job opportunity and I didn't know how to answer question in a certain way or had a lot of experience, however I gave it my 100% effort and I got it. I suggest they do the same.
