  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I took part in a business oriented work experience as an intern where I took part in different activities to develop my skills such as a Dragons' Den team work day with other students on the programme and also assist with helping the clients of EY. We had to complete our work to high standards and everyday was different.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've learned many skills through the programme such as working with other team members effectively and how to communicate well. Through the CMI level 2 adult management qualification we learned and developed many different skills such as how to give feedback and coaching.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I've enjoyed the programme a lot. Working with other similar aged team member with differing opinions was fun and helped give new perspectives into different tasks. The company culture was very friendly and the whole experience surpassed what I thought it'd be like.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by EY?
  • I feel very valued by EY. My manager regularly recognised my hard work and I contributed meaningful work during the time I worked with EY clients and I feel EY really cares for our progress.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I thought the programme was quite organised and well structured as all our activities were planned in advance and there was a very smooth transition between tasks.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • We've received a lot of support as we were given constructive feedback on how we can improve our skills and our training providers were very approachable.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • EY supported us in many ways, we were given mentors who we can regularly meet with and were also given contacts with many different employees of the firm to ask for guidance with future prospects.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary costs were good as we were given more than enough for transport costs and we were given food vouchers on top so I feel it was more than enough.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • EY has planned several alumni events for us over the next year such as interviews with senior business people. The CMI qualification also gives me an advantage in future jobs to stand out compared to others.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It's a brilliant opportunity no matter what they'd want to do in the future and gives you knowledge and transferable skills for most situations.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Prepare for the interview by researching the style of questions asked but don't stress over the whole application process. Be excited for the program if you get on and make the most of it.
