We learn about different departments of EY and fill in learning logs about the skills we have learnt from our skills sessions, Dragon's Den, visit days and business experience days.
I have learnt how to efficiently use Excel to present data in a understandable and efficient way. I have learnt what leader is and how to work in a team. We have filled out learning logs in order to acquire a level 2 CMI qualification, which is equivalent to a GCSE qualification.
I enjoyed it very much and derived great things from it. I have refined my team working skills and learnt to be efficient in organising and planning a pitch. I have learnt to come up with creative ways to tackle a problem and come up with solutions.
EY have given me a mentor and allowed me to work in Procurement with [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions], who has shown great patience and taught me how to use Excel. I have had a great time planning, presenting and pitching. EY is also allowing me to have future opportunities to aid me in my future career.
The programme is well structured and has been manageable. Although I felt like I was missing out on an extra week by not going for the summer programme.
I've received tremendous amount of support from [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions]. We've had volunteers like [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] and more that have helped us out. They shared their experiences and helped us understand the reality of the working world.
My mentor has been amazing. She has told me her experiences and told me the future options I could explore. I have her contact number and I am able to speak to her about college, work, my CV and future options.
Satisfactory. Although, the per hour salary is low (£5.50), the amount of work is easily handled. There has been help available, which made the work easier. There has also been vouchers for meals.
Yes. There are opportunities for shadowing employees and attending alumni events. The network acquired during this experience will be useful during the future.
Yes
The experience is a way to gain insight into the working world. I would love to have friend go into similar careers like me.
Be yourself and try to be professional. Don't be afraid of speaking out and don't let your ego get in the way of gaining friend, experience or opportunities.
