Each day there was a new task. There was a Dragons den say task where we had to present a new phone for 2025 and this task involved a lot of research and developing ideas. There was another task where we researched into a company and evaluated whether or not hey should work for this controversial company or not. We did 3 days in one of the EY service line. I chose TAS(Transaction Advisory Service). it really gave me a good insight into the life of an accountant.
Team leadership- During Dragons den Analysis skills- researching into varies companies and presenting the info back Presentation skill- I did 4 presentations in total
I enjoyed it a lot. it really made me think about a career in accounting and possibly doing a school leavers programme.
Very. All employees were willing to help and answered all the questions I had.
It was very well organised. Each day we were told how the day would go and everything was incorporated in the day.
they let me have the week off of college as they knew this was a great opportunity. any problems I had I was able to email someone about it
We have a mentor which we will have for 10 months and if we had any questions or wanted to try something the 2 organisers were happy to help.
its higher than minimum wage so that's great.
we will have 3 alumni were we will be able to network with people and possibly that will open doors for new opportunity.
Yes
It was extremely insightful into the world of accounting and a lot of skills are learnt which you can apply to future jobs and say in interviews. The fact that it was with 1 of the Big 4 accounting firms makes it great on applications.
Don't be stressed with the phone interview. you are only 17 so they wont expect A* answers. Ask a lot of questions during your placement. get as many questions answered as you may not have this opportunity again.
